Who programs your Alexa? with Nicholaas Jedema

Jedema can only share so much because of NDAs to protective privacy and his work though he will share the insights he has gleaned from working on such a unique project in our wolrd of ever changing technology transformation.

His bio: "I received by undergrad at Cornell, where I initially pursued three majors, in pre-med neuroscience, cognitive science, and philosophy. After spending two years in these disciplines, I realized I wanted to apply my perspectives from these fields to create tangible products. Tech, with its cycle of rapid iterations and relatively low barrier to entry, was a natural next step and shifted my focus to computer science, math, and economics. This led to an internship as a Product Manager with Graphiq (formerly FindTheBest), a Santa Barbara tech company founded by Dotcom era tech legend Kevin O’Connor. My initial 3 months at Graphiq became a work remote position that I filled while finishing my last year of undergrad. In mid 2017, Graphiq was acquired by Amazon to bolster Alexa. Since acquisition by Amazon, I’ve been working to make Alexa smarter by extracting structured knowledge from unstructured data through the application of various techniques including ML. Outside of work, I can be found getting lost on my bike in the mountains of Santa Barbara and or otherwise enjoying the beautiful central coast scenery."  WOW!

Thrifty Chic has long been a long time dream for Denise Muniz. As a self-proclaimed frugal fashionista, Denise always loved clothes and bargains. Since the launch in early May, Thrifty Chic has participated in more than 40 events, helping Californians look even more fabulous. Due to the positive response, Thrifty Chic will launch as a full online retailer later this year. Thrifty Chic specializes in unique and affordable vintage and modern clothing for men and women.
